We help your child thrive, not just survive
When most parents hear the term "Pediatric Chiropractic," they have a couple of questions. The first is, what does a chiropractic adjustment look like for a child? And second is, "Can this really help my child?" So many moms and dads are looking for science-backed ways that they can help their child to grow and develop optimally, whether it is proactively or if there is a current struggle going on.
Dr. Vin's first exposure to chiropractic care was through baseball as a boy growing up. It helped him get back on the field and play at his best, so he knew he wanted to do the same for other athletes. But when he was in chiropractic school, he noticed that so many of his health challenges had gone away and that his body was functioning so much better. So, he decided that it was so much more valuable to help a child maximize their developmental potential than it was to help an athlete run a 0.1 second faster.
After noticing these health improvements, Dr. Vin became very interested in the science of chiropractic and how it could work to help get people healthy. He knew that the connection between the brain and the body was the nervous system. And if that connection was free of interference, the body would function as optimally as possible.
But, he learned that if there was interference, usually due to vertebral subluxations, then the function of the body would be compromised. Since children go through so many stressors (physical, emotional, and chemical) pediatric chiropractic is vital for maintaining optimal function of the nervous system and thereby improving the health and development of the child.
The Perfect Storm
The perfect storm occurs when all the ingredients of a storm come together at just the right time to create a huge environmental catastrophe. In our kids, the perfect storm ingredients are the stressors that so many kids are going through today. But all too often, we look at the end result of the storm rather than the ingredients it took to make it. So in the next section, I wanted to take a deeper dive into those ingredients so we can help you get answers for your child!
Dr. Vin went through many of these aspects of the perfect storm. While his mom was pregnant with him, she worked a ridiculous amount. Traveling on public transportation throughout cold New York winters and hot summers. At birth, the OB convinced his mom that she couldn't have him naturally because he was too big for her pelvis. But his mom wanted to at least try, so she did. After hours of labor, she needed to have a c-section.
So many of the ingredients of the perfect storm were present, but all of his doctors missed it. The most overlooked aspect of health is the function of the nervous system. We know that it controls everything in the body, but how often do we have it assessed? Here are three categories of stress that affect the nervous system. How many has your child gone through?
Slips and Falls
Learning to Walk
Fear and anxiety
Diagnoses and labels
Diet and Supplementation
When the amount of stress your child is under exceeds the body's internal resistance, the body enters protection physiology. The
most indicative sign of this stress is vertebral subluxation.
A vertebral subluxation is when the spine is misaligned and fixated putting the nervous system in fight or flight mode. They occur when stress supersedes the body's ability to handle it. A vertebral subluxation keeps the body stuck on stress.
Since there is an intimate relationship with the nervous system and the spine, vertebral subluxations have a profound impact on brain development.
By correcting vertebral subluxations through specific chiropractic adjustments, we help your child's nervous system communicate better, restoring the innate connection between the body and brain, enhancing their ability to create the life of their dreams!
The first test we will use looks at the temperature along each side of the spine. The body's temperature controls are affected by pressure and tension in the spinal nerves. Researchers have found that changes in temperature along the spine are directly related to how well organs work! Measuring the subtle changes in temperature control allows us to have an inside view of how body systems are responding to stress.
Blood vessels on either side of the spine are measured using thermographic (Temperature) scanning. These blood vessels are under the same control of specific nerves that regulate organs and glands. If spinal nerve interference is present, the blood vessels will constrict(cool) or dilate(warm). Studies indicate that temperature imbalance is related to poor nerve control and poor regulation of the organs and glands.
This technology allows us to determine how each specific nerve root is being controlled by the brain. If the body is unable to maintain equal temperature from side to side, it is also unable to regulate the amount of energy going to each organ.
Chiropractic adjustments have been shown to consistently break down these unhealthy thermal patterns and normalize the nerve controls to the organs and glands. Consistent care and scanning confirm the impact that chiropractic care has on organ metabolism.
The next test uses two sensors that lightly touch the skin along the back and neck so that the tiny nerve signals making your muscles work can be assessed. EMG sensors measure the electrical nerve signals in muscles as they contract. The colors and scores tell us how energized or exhausted the entire spinal muscle and nerve system are when performing the simple task of sitting.
There is a computer model which knows exactly how much energy the muscles along the spine should "spend" to maintain proper posture and alignment. if these signals are too strong or even too weak, the computerized program will detect and score the results. Muscles that are constantly overworked tire more easily and are part of the picture in a patient's overall sense of fatigue and exhaustion.
Chiropractic care is renowned for unlocking unhealthy spine and nerve habits that affect the function of the muscles and joints of the spine. The EMG scans also show that a properly adjusted and well-aligned spinal core wastes much less energy.
The job of the nervous system is to perceive the environment and coordinate the behavior of all of the cells. Chiropractic adjustments, correct subluxations, which optimize the function of the nervous system. When the nervous system functions optimally, learning, behavior and health is optimized.
How easy is it to get started?
Step 1: What is your
The first step is to take a detailed history so we can determine how long the stress has been affecting your baby's nervous system. *Typically done via phone consult, for the ease of the family*
Step 2: How much stress is there?
The second step is to do a neurological scan and exam to determine how much stress there is in your baby's nervous system.
Step 3: Execute Care Plan
Then based on that information, we make a plan and execute it so your child can build a strong foundation for all future learning, behavior, and health.
How we can guide you.
Execute and let your child's greatness shine!
